What's in a Name?

Is it possible to have the same first AND last name as another person?  Well, in Rotterdam, it is possible.  As I found out when my sister and I first spotted this mural while exploring Rotterdam in August.  As we looked at the mural, we noticed the artist's name in the corner "Tymon de Laat" - WHAT???

Well, Tymon de Laat is a very well known mural artist whose home base is Rotterdam and who travels frequently around the world, especially to Latin America, to paint murals. His work can be seen in throughout Europe, as well as in countries such as Jordan, Laos and Cuba.  I started to follow him on Instagram and learned about his "Open Studio" which was held this past weekend.  Of course I had to go and had to meet this person who has the same first name as my last name - and here we are:

He told me that I was the first person he had met with the last name of "Tymon" and, likewise, I had never met anyone with that first name.  He said the name was Greek, though my research showed it is as also a Polish first name.  He asked me how many "Tymons" I knew and I gave him a quick overview of the family tree.  Here's some of the artwork he had on display - most of hi inspiration is from Latin America:

So there you go - first names, last names - who knew???
